Willses is an enchanting 16th century thatched cottage situated in Brighstone, on the Isle of Wight offering high-quality accommodation in our self-catering barn. The cottage is one of the oldest in Brighstone and is thought to date back to the 17th Century.  

Willses and its grounds have undergone a huge no-expense-spared renovation to restore it to its former glory whilst adding a few of the modern touches we all take for granted nowadays. We are perfectly located for walking, cycling, fossil hunting, sea swimming, and if you are brave enough even paragliding. Our location is also ideal if you are looking to explore the wonderful Isle of Wight.

Brighstone Village

Brighstone village is situated in the scenic, rural south-west of the island known locally as ‘Back o’ the Wight’. The Jurassic coast is just 10 minutes walk away, and is famous for its concentrated number of dinosaur fossils. Alternatively, with the sweeping Downs on our doorstep, ramblers can join the Tennyson Trail in 10 minutes and explore Brighstone Forest or walk the Warrior TrailMottistone Manor & Gardens is a National Trust property and only 5 minutes drive away.

The village also boasts a wonderful Village Shop, open 7 days a week incorporating a delicatessen with local produce, a bakery and a post office. There is also a newsagent with a coffee shop as well as Mountain bike and electric bike hire. The village also boasts a museum, a wonderful card and gift shop and a Tea Rooms

The Three Bishops pub is 5 minutes walk from Willses and has a nice beer garden and offers ‘pub grub’.  There is a bus stop outside the village shop with 6 services throughout the day running from Newport to Alum Bay via Freshwater.
